Tips for Teachers both in School and in Home.

Behavior Idea 1: Avoid raising your voice.
This only adds to the volume of the class and may display the teacher is losing control.

Behavior Idea 2: Give more comments that are positive rather than negative comment. Students respond positively to positivity!

Behavior Idea 3: Rewards are effective. Material rewards work, but privilege rewards is better for the class as a whole.

Behavior Idea 4: The teacher needs to show that he/she has control (even if he/she feels stressed in a tough class)

Behavior Idea 5: Each class has a different environment. It is the student’s individuality and previous experiences that the teacher must adapt.

Behavior Idea 6: Be consistent with the rules for all students. Fairness is important in- group dynamics. Children know the difference.

  1. Sounds like this is good advice no matter where you work.

  2. I used to be a teacher, too. And my best practices include Idea #1 and #2. I believe in affirming my student's positive traits and strengths and though it can be difficult NOT to raise your voice, they do notice more when I PAUSE and keep quiet and they tend to follow. Thanks for sharing these. :D
