STOP Unwanted Calls

A lady from Claremore, Oklahoma was at the end of her rope. She says "I'm getting 10 to 12 calls a day from the same number. I've told them to stop calling but the calls keep coming. Is there a way to look up these numbers?" Absolutely. You can be your own PI with the help of other people plagued by the same problem.
First you can go to and enter the phone number to search.
Secondly, you can also go to See what other consumers have tracked down. Often you can find a company name and mailing address. You can write a letter telling them to stop calling.
Finally be sure you have all of your phone numbers, including your cell phone, registered on
You can file complaints if a company is in violation of the Do Not Call list. The FTC can fine a company thousands of dollars for not sticking to the rules.

  1. There are loopholes to the DNC list. If you are already a customer, a company can call you to promote their specials and package deals (think Verizon or DirecTV). Also, anybody can call you for a survey or for asking for donations to a non-profit organization.

  2. I didn't know about anything other than the do not call list. Thanks for the information.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hug. :)

  3. Thanks for these great resources. I signed up early with the DNC list. I THINK that even if you've established a business relationship with a company, if you tell them to remove you from their call list, they have to comply.

The DNC list also does not apply to political organizations, that's why you get so many calls during campaign periods.
