Risks People Take

When it comes to doing the right thing, most of us have a little voice that tells us when we veer off the path. But that doesn't mean we always listen to it.
Consumer Reports polled 1,000 people about risky behavior, such as riding a bike without a helmet. Most of us know it's safer to wear a helmet when we ride a bike, but how many of us do? It turns out that 58 percent of cyclists say they never wear a helmet when biking.
Apparently there are a number of things we do that we shouldn't.
Slowing down at a stop sign instead of coming to a full stop? 35 percent of us roll through stop signs occasionally, and 15 percent do it often.
How about driving the speed limit on local roads? 37 percent of those polled said they go at least 10 miles per hour over the limit occasionally, and 11 percent said they speed often.
Leaving items on the stairs can be a real hazard, yet 22 percent said they occasionally do it, and 15 percent said they do it often.
So which sex takes more risk? The poll didn't find very many differences between men and women, but it did find that women tend to be better about using sunscreen.
Need to hear some good news? 87 percent said they never read or send text messages while driving. Note to the other 13 percent: Heads up!

  1. Okay, I do California stops often. I'm a lead foot at times too. The rest of the stuff I'm okay on.

Have a great day. Big hug. :)
