One Small Candle’s Light
by: Steven Wild
As the moon gives way to the risen sun
Our past and our futures came together as one
You taught me to know what was wrong from what was right
All the darkness in the world can’t put out one small candle’s light

The crosses that you carried as you neared your journey’s end
The courage that you showed, time and time again
The tears that you cried at the end of your life
Weren’t from fear and pain, but for your sons and your wife

I know at the end there’s ashes and there’s dust
And I swear I know that diamonds never rust
I remember as a child, you’d rub your whiskers on my chin
I’d laugh and say, “C’mon, do it again”.

Every major event that ever happened in my life
I’d walk on toward, with you right by my side
There’s an angel now in Heaven, he’s my best friend
I know you’ll keep watching over me till we meet again

I remember as a child you told me about Jesus
God’s son sacrificed Himself, to save us, to free us
I look to the day when we meet again
The bonds of love ain’t cut between Earth and Heaven

There’s no death, man, I know that you were reborn
Now it’s up to us to keep carrying on
My heart’ll always have a spot that’ll feel so sad
But I thank God everyday for the best father a man ever had.

Heaven
by: Steven Wild
It lies beyond our future, in a distant unclear past
Our lives, such a short journey, t’was never meant to last
His tears are in the raindrops, His voice echoes in the wind,
His smile is the sunlight, His warmth felt deep within
And in the lives of all, when we felt so low,
We never felt the presence, but we were never alone.

He made us all a promise, that’s now as old as time
Of a Kingdom in our future, that baffles all mankind.
And when the soul awakens, do we become a part of Him?
The answer awaits to be unveiled in this Kingdom of Heaven.

So fear not as time moves onward, our end draws ever nearer,
As a gentle wind banishes fog, the image gets much clear,
And as all nightmares flee, when dawn pierces eastern skies,
Death is but a bluff, that scares you with its lies.
For Death has been defeated, it could not keep Him in a tomb,
For Heaven awaits, it’s our rebirth, the earth is but our womb.
So fear not the darkness, or what lies the coming day,Close your eyes and slumber, for God is always awake.
