“We, as women, think of ourselves as mothers, teachers, nurses and so on, but God says that we are builders. We usually relegate this role to the men, but we are building with something far greater than brick and timber.”

The thinking could be way off on this one, but here I go.
As Mothers, we are to show LOVE. This is one of the most important building blocks in the game of life. If a child lives a life of neglect all their life and grows with no love, they become a miserable person. They go though their lives with contempt for everyone. It is not the child’s fault or the grownup that the child becomes. They know no better thus they turn out this way. If you have an abused animal, the animal turns out the same. I am not comparing children to animals; OR am I. All living beings need love. BUT it is not inborn, it is a taught process.
Children raised in a loving Christian home will turn out to be the leaders of the community. They will reach out to help others. They will live a life with the love they taught all around them. They will show love and compassion.
Thus, we are builders we have the most powerful of all building tools. We have the ability to show love and teach love.

Love is patient,
Love is kind,
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
It is not proud,
It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices with the truth.
Love always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
and always perseveres.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
Love never ends.
Love Never Fails.

You weren't way off Colleen, the Bible says its love that holds everything together, especially the spiritual home we are designated to build. Its a good building block to start with and intertwine with all the others.
ReplyDeleteWhen something is shared from your heart, it is never "way off". That was beautifully said and so true. We cannot build a foundation of any solidity without Love at the base.

You were right on the target, Coleen. Love is a great foundation.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Colleen.
ReplyDeleteSo true, the most powerful building tool of all is to show love and teach love- that's an ability we only have in Christ! So true!!!
